WOMEN'S SOCCER SIGNEE: EMMA HASKELL FROM TRENTON, OHIO
Emma Haskell from Edgewood (Ohio) High School has signed a letter of intent to play women's soccer at Indiana University East starting with the 2022 season.
Red Wolves coach Shane Meridith made the announcement on July 11.
Haskell was a two-time first team All-Southwest Ohio Conference performer in her three seasons with the Cougars, while also receiving the Golden Boot Award along with the Coach's Award and the Hustle, Heart and Harmony Award. She was also involved in club soccer.
"She played in the wing positions for us and occasionally as the central striker," said Shawn Pence, who is the head coach of the TempesT Football Club. "Her constant pressure on the ball created a lot of opportunities for not only her, but the players around her."
Selected as the Athlete of the Year by Edgewood High School as a senior, Emma is the daughter of Lori and Doug Haskell of Trenton, Ohio.
"I chose IU East because the small campus was welcoming," Haskell said. "It felt like the right fit for me when I visited."
Haskell is another member of the 2022 IU East women's soccer recruiting class to be announced this spring.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves have won the River States Conference Tournament twice and as a result reached the NAIA National Championships in 2019 and 2020-21.
