Changes to Hours of Operation at the Elkhart County Landfill
The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners approved the reduction of hours at the Elkhart County Landfill effective August 2, 2022. Until further notice, the new hours of operation will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. The final Saturday of operation for 2022 will be October 29th.
The change in hours is a direct result of losing operators to an ever-changing market. The County Commissioners think this is a critical matter and are working to address current market demands for these critical positions. The Commissioners sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and hope to resume normal business hours once staffing is back to normal.
