Everence Student-Athlete of the Week: Mady Axsom, Women's Track & Field

Mady Axsom, a first-year on the women's track and field team, has been named the Everence Student-Athlete of the Week for January 23 - January 30!

On Saturday at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic, Axsom tied the school record in the high jump by clearing the bar on her third attempt at 1.62 meters, or five feet and 3.75 inches. The first-year placed third of 14 and is tied with Annemee Siersma for the school record, who cleared the same height in 1996.

Axsom had another third-place finish in the long jump, going a distance of 5.00 meters (16 feet, five inches), and was also on the 4x400-meter relay team that placed eighth.

Way to go, Mady!
